A darkly comic one-woman show about a betrayed friend, a conniving fern, and a 19 year old girl whose twisted journey brought them all together. Drop in on Elizabeth as she recounts her experiences with this crazy concept we call love - how it's found, how it's lost, and how it's butchered.

How does the Oxford English Dictionary define "bootylicious"? Is Helvetica really a fascist typeface? Can I get an STD from unprotected twittering? Find horribly unscientific answers to these and more imperative questions of our time in a modern adaptation of a classic from the Dada movement. Aptly described by its author as "the greatest three act hoax of the century," The Gas Heart searches through the skivvies of our society to reveal the senselessness in our world today: politics, pop culture, and potato chips in 2009.

Wacky, irreverent and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE spins a hilarious musical farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty.

Once, a mysterious woman became a King's favorite. Their son desired an underwater Princess and when the land Prince and water Princess met on an island under the full moon, they immediately fell in love. But there was a terrible misunderstanding. The Princess cursed the Prince (turning him into a pretty bird) and he then had a VERY eventful journey home. In the end, the Prince and Princess lived together happily ever after.

Vancouver: I got to the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island a little tipsy on white wine and with meat still stuck between my teeth from dinner. Somehow, it seemed a fitting state to take in a burlesque musical.

SHINE these two look like they're having fun.

Vancouver: Dances for a Small Stage 21 proved to be another strong and eclectic installment in the wildly popular dance series.

Dances for a Small Stage 21

Vancouver: Powered by ecstatic dance, saturated with colour, and exquisitely staged, Bollywood Wedding is a unique midsummer spectacle. Featuring twenty-four dancers, thirteen actors, a full band, and three individual musicians, it was not only colourful but also a busy affair.
