The Living Shh - Bizarre, but Entertaining

"My human name is Callahan."

    - Callahan Connor (C-Command)

Let me start by saying that this man's beard is a work of art. It is not content to merely extend below his face but protrudes out in all directions, like the rays of a glorious furry sun.

Second off, I will say that I entered the theatre a little bit late. Connor's performance started with him sitting on a chair in a pitch black room. I needed to be escorted to my seat by cellphone light. The feeling of lostness and out-of-context-ness was conserved for the duration of the production.

Some unifying threads existed throughout the performance. For one, the fact that Connor was explaining a lucid dream was a major theme. It went between slow, almost melodic explanation of the story, crazed beat-boxing poetry frankenstein, rhythms, and Connor explaining to some degree what he meant to express through all of this.

The rhythms he created and the flexibility of his mouth were impressive, and he got the audience involved as well in what I can only describe as primal *insert noise* therapy. His use of language was also mind altering and effervescently silly.

So if you like to laugh and make strange noises with a strange man in a dark room with a microphone you'll enjoy The Living Shh.
