Spoiled Child Saves The Polar Bears – 80’s Celeb’s Comeback on Eco-Bandwagon

Genre definition = Silly · Musical · Intimate

As she walks on stage you think to yourself….could it be?…is it?….wow! it is….it’s Spoiled Child. What, you don’t remember Spoiled Child?  Come on she was that singer in the 80’s…you know she had that song…then she moved on to her Spoken Word Period…and then she had that Reality Show well for a year…remember?

Well, she’s back - rebuilding her career (as she says looking out at the afternoon audience) - “15 people at a time”. - You would think she would be totally back on top, instead of the “c-list celebrity” now that she has saved the polar bears. Of course, you probably didn’t even know that she saved the polar bears – but she did – she even made a documentary about it, but it will never air as she doesn’t have film of the big ending, the conclusion, the money shot…which is important in a documentary about saving the polar bears.

But, if you are lucky enough to get yourself to Studio 1398 you can hear directly from Spoiled Child about her adventure and how she used her Canadian small c celebrity, her talent (?), her positive affirmations, Twitter and Margaret Atwood to stumble upon one of the greatest eco-mysteries of all time…which ultimately saves the polar bears.

Katherine Sanders has created this New Canadian Myth for the 21st century…using satire, comedy, clowning and just a touch of bouffon to take on Celebrity, Social Media, Government Science(?), the Eco-movement and Climate Change. Alice Nelson’s direction keeps this one-woman show moving both emotionally and physically keeping the audience engaged and laughing as they take a cruise to the Artic with some Canadian celebs (who you have never heard of), possibly one of the girls from Project Runway Season Five and of course SPOILED CHILD.
