Okay, Who The Hell Is Todd Allen?

Todd? Todd Allen?
Is he that guy that works at that place? You know. The place downtown?
 

No? Hmmm. Tooooodd... Allen? Nope, nothing coming to me.
Is he a comedian? Oh yeah... that guy.

 Right. That's Todd Allen.

I went to this performance mainly to see what the title was all about. I didn't know if this show was some kind of personal piece or if it was a hot "ladies of the night" sort of experience. I went to see what the "hell" it was actually about.

It is a straight stand-up performance with a major twist. In contrast with his usual performances at comedy clubs, Todd Allen wanted to connect with his audience in a different way. He was trying to engage with the audience like he was having a cup of coffee with you at his kitchen table. It wasn't just friendly banter. He actually talked to the audience like, if the show went badly, we'd be free to pack up and head to the bar. Very refreshing.
