The Lost Supper: dinner revolution

The Lost Supper

In The Lost Supper (My Dinner With Jacques), Frenchman Jacques Lalonde and his team of actors and cooks, revolutionize the traditional dinner party bringing you a night of food and entertainment where anything goes!

If you’re looking for theatre with an intriguing storyline, rising tension, an exciting climax and a deep, profound message, then DO NOT attend this show. In fact, Jacques works hard at ensuring that there is absolutely no storyline at all, claiming – and rightfully so – that “Food is the star of this show!”  Chef, Rod Matheson, has designed a mouth-watering menu and all dishes are created with fresh, local and organic ingredients from The Farmer’s Market.

As you enter the venue at 2146 Yew St, you are no longer an audience member but a welcomed guest at a communal dinner party.  While everyone takes their seats on a comfy lounge or at the candle-lit dining table, the cooks continue to prepare in the open kitchen, the aptly titled three-piece band, Out to Lunch, plays softly in the background, and house-owner and photographer, John Taylor, offers to turn red peppers into wine for a small fee.  The dinner party has begun and it’s off with tasty start.

Throughout the evening, the audience becomes part of a nine-course ‘show- and-tell for grownups’ as various performers share their stories, show off their skills, or simply present on a topic they are passionate about. You won’t necessarily agree or even relate to all subjects put forward for discussion, but after all, that’s what makes for interesting dinner conversation! With such an assortment of delicious appetizers, however, and a range of entertainment including song and dance, photographic slide shows, origami workshops and even a burlesque show within inches from your seat, you are sure to leave this party with a smile on your face and a desire to help Jacques bring back The Lost Supper – perhaps even into your own home!

Seating is limited and only 3 shows remain - so grab your ticket fast!
