History of Canada - What's With The Ancient Bears?!?!

Genre definition = Funny · Silly · Intellectual

From the moment the members of the Pump Trolley Comedy Troupe gather onstage in their plaid shirts and flashlights uplighting their faces in the dark I knew the audience was embarking on a wild ride through history. We are reminded by the members of the troupe that time is not linear and somehow it all has to do with ancient bears. I never did quite figure out the relevance of the bears to Canadian history but the presence of the bears allowed for a nice tie in at the end of the show.

As with many sketch comedy shows that are compiled of skits blended together, some were funnier than others. However, it didn't really matter if a segment didn't quite make the mark, as was the case with a fart joke or a quack lotion potion segment, the level of energy and zest for fun from the troupe propelled the show forward. In fact, the absurdity of some of the moments of history added to the kinetic energy. I would challenge anyone to sit through the show and not have at least a few good belly laughs. Of special mention were the segments where Al Capone explains the fortitude of his arsenal and one on the Canada Arm. If only history was taught like this in school.
