Everyone Altogether All The TIme: a new form of American foreign policy

Everyone Altogether All The TIme

Mark Alford, Ryan Hitchcock and Matt Olson are the cheerleaders for 1-2-3 USA!, a new sketch comedy trio from Olympia delivering their sometimes hilarious Manifest Destiny to the Canadian audience. We're invited to join them in the Greatest Nation on Earth.  In case you miss it the first time, they repeat it.  And repeat it.  Louder. (That's how you know it's the truth.)  It's American foreign policy's kinder, gentler Disney-fied ambassador.  They say ignorance is bliss and these guys profess a wholeheartedly blissful existence. All well and good, except their sketches betray a touch of Monty Python-ish cynicism and a tad of frat house bawdiness.   That's when things get really interesting. And a lot of fun.

The cast is well-connected and can bounce around easily and comfortably in improv situations.  The sketch work is mostly (loosely) connected thematically, and the fun for the audience is in being part of the inside joke as things progress.  There are some moments of brilliance and inspired silliness that a reviewer would be rightly shot for revealing but suffice to say that more than a few audience members were bent over laughing and snorts were heard in the back row.  So maybe we weren't all rushing to convert to being Americans but I think that wasn't really the point.

Everyone Altogether All The TIme is on as part of the Vancouver Fringe. For more information go here.
