Vancouver Theatre: where we are, who we are

Our friend at The Next Stage, Simon Ogden, has written an interesting piece on rebranding theatre in Vancouver. He takes as his starting point the recently completed run of HIVE 3.

I've weighed in with my own (well-worn) thoughts on this topic in the comments section attached to the piece.

This reminded me of something I've been meaning to do for months but never got around to until now. Alex Ferguson and I were commissioned last year by the Australian-based RealTime publication to write about the Vancouver theatre scene. Both articles are up on their website and I thought PLANK readers might find it interesting to see how Alex and I presented our community to the greater world. Alex's piece is here and mine is here.

Those with long memories, may recall that PLANK owes its existence to a workshop run by RealTime in 2008 as part of that year's PuSh Festival.
