Written by George Ryga and performed by Jacques Lalonde, "One More For The Road" is a richly textured and poignant commentary on life, carried along with song and banjo. This is Jacques 22nd annual Fringe, in a show which Ryga himself described as "a gift to the long, long line of musicians, raconteurs and folk custodians of memory." "And that", says Director John Taylor, "makes it pretty much a perfect fit for Jacques.

I couldn't help but sing along with him

After fringing all week long, my energy level was somewhat disappearing. I decided to see this show before heading home to go to bed. I went to the late show, even though i should have gone to bed. The house was only less than half full, and then the show started. He was funny, and good singer and all the songs were catchy. He even managed to get the audience to sing along with him. I was one of them. When i walked home, i couldn’t help but sing the songs in my head….the show was music to my ears !

tonight's show

Very well acted, super combination of singing, story-telling and the meshing of many stories! Highly recommended. Nice added touch to have brought on Dick Clements, who the play was originally written for, to the stage after the show.
