This is a great show for
This is a great show for people who like a good laugh but don’t take themselves too seriously. Penny’s self-deprecating humour is charmingly vulgar and personable at the same time.
double puke
The stench of this show made me gag. It was a lot like bashing my head continually against a wall for an hour: repetitive, painful and I feel stupider for it. Oh, and loved the racial comments – black stereotypes really hit home when you attend with an African American friend. According to MC Hot Pink, it may suck that she’s single but what’s worse is her show – it stinks and a shower is not going to fix it.
Ugghhh
Pure PUKE!
"Higher Window" Is The Funniest Play I've Seen In Years!
I’ve been a Fringe regular for over ten years now and was not prepared for the laughs I experienced seeing HIGHER WINDOW at The Terraces On 7th.
What a hoot. It’s about MURDER and LESBIAN Love with a CRAZY Transexual thrown in for good measure!
Go see it!
As a lesbian transexual
As a lesbian transexual woman I find it highly offensive that these traits are considered gimmicks used to promote such a shitty play. Whats more, this advertisement for “HIGHER WINDOW” (I too know where caps lock is on my computer) is unfairly lumped in with another plays review. Maybe if the play had any redeemable qualities, I would not be so offended, but as I have seen “HIGHER WINDOW” I can safely say that it offended me and wasted my time, money and effort (the effort it took to stay awake/ not run screaming out of the theatre). Go die in a hole you rat bastard.
A very funny show!
Penny is an energetic performer who is similtaneously self-deprecating and self-confident. She skewers many of the stereotypes and attitudes towards women found in media and society, but had women and men (or ‘she-pimps’ and ‘man-hos’) laughing equally throughout the show. Despite a rather subdued audience she did very well, and the final number with three audience members was hilarious. This is definitely a show that gives back more the more the audience is into it, so leave your inhibitions outside and be ready to have a good time!
Busty Rhymes
This was the second show I saw on opening night and I picked it specially because of last year’s show. I saw Penny Aston’s show last year and was throughly entertained. This year I was even more impressed. Penny is a wonderfully entertaining and slighty bawdy entertainer from New Zealand and her show is non stop fun. Her poems are hilarous and I especially loved her Yes Yes No Tango and her closing rap number. This show is fringing at it’s best! You pay your money and sometimes you get lucky. I would suggest that anyone looking for a good time check out this great show. Bring your sense of humour and check any prudish tendancies at the door.
