WOW - it's curtains for Vancouver Playhouse.
One final show tomorrow evening of Catalyst Theatre's Hunchback, then the Playhouse is no more.
Apparently their board called an emergency meeting last night. The result was that the board decided the company couldn't continue with amount of debt, that there was no way to pay it back. With a debt of over $900,000 - I can understand that the board needed to make a drastic decision.
The company has produced plays in Vancouver for 49 years.
It's a crazy day.
